CONSULTATIVE HEALTH COMMITTEES (DUBLIN, CORK AND WATERFORD) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1955.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 48 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Consultative Health Committees (Dublin, Cork and Waterford) (Amendment) Regulations, 1955.

2. In these Regulations—

"the Principal Regulations" means the Consultative Health Committees (Dublin, Cork and Waterford) Regulations, 1954 ( S.I. No. 73 of 1954 ).

3. Article 5 of the Principal Regulations shall be amended as follows:—

(a) by the deletion of sub-article (4) and the substitution therefor of the following—

"(4) the Dublin Consultative Health Committee shall consist of twenty members, of whom twelve shall be appointed by resolution of the Dublin City Council and eight by resolution of the Council of the County of Dublin."

(b) by the substitution in paragraph (d) of sub-article (5) of "four" for "two".

4. Article 6 of the Principal Regulations shall be amended as follows:—

(a) by the deletion of sub-article (3) and the substitution therefor of the following:—

"(3) the Cork Consultative Health Committee shall consist of nineteen members of whom ten shall be appointed by resolution of the Cork City Council and nine by resolution of the Council of the County of Cork."

(b) by the deletion of paragraph (d) of sub-article (4) and the substitution therefor of the following:—

"(d) three other registered medical practitioners residing in the county borough of Cork each ofwhom is nominated by a body which, in the opinion of the Cork City Council, is representative of registered medical practitioners practising in the said county borough ".

5. Article 7 of the Principal Regulations shall be amended as follows:—

(a) by the deletion of sub-article (3) and the substitution therefor of the following:—"

"(3) the Waterford Consultative Health Committee shall consist of eighteen members of whom nine shall be appointed by resolution of the Waterford City Council and nine by resolution of the Council of the County of Waterford."

(b) by the deletion of paragraph (c) of sub-article (4) and the substitution therefor of the following:—

"(c) three other registered medical practitioners residing in the county borough of Waterford each of whom is nominated by a body which, in the opinion of the Waterford City Council, is representative of registered medical practitioners practising in the said county borough."

6. The appointment of additional members of a consultative health committee as provided for in these Regulations shall be made as soon as is convenient after the making of these Regulations.
