REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES (ALTERATION OF FEES) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS, 1954.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 9 of the Vital Statistics and Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1952 (No. 8 of 1952), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Alteration of Fees) (No. 3) Regulations, 1954.

2.—(1) The amount of the fee for each entry in an account of the births, deaths or marriages registered by a registrar, fixed by an enactment to which this Article applies shall be altered, as from the 1st day of July, 1953, to two shillings.

(2) The enactments to which this Article applies are :—

(a) Section 54 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 ;

(b) Section 21 of the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, as amended by section 3 of the Registration of Marriages Act, 1936 (No. 35 of 1936).

3. The amount of the allowance payable under Section 3 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1936 (No. 34 of 1936), shall be altered, as from the 1st day of July, 1953, to :

(a) twenty pounds in respect of each year ; and

(b) in the case of a part of a year during which a registrar has held office, an amount bearing to twenty pounds the same proportion as the said part of such year bears to one year.

4. The amount of the allowance payable under section 2 of the Registration of Marriages Act, 1936 , shall be altered, as from the 1st day of July, 1953, to :

(a) five pounds in respect of each year ; and

(b) in the case of a part of a year during which a registrar has held office, an amount bearing to five pounds the same proportion as the said part of such year bears to one year.
