SOCIAL WELFARE (TREATMENT BENEFIT) (TRANSITIONAL) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1954.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and in particular by sections 3 and 66 of the said Act, and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) (Transitional) (Amendment) Regulations, 1954.

(2) These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) (Transitional) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 22 of 1953 ), hereinafter referred to as the Principal Regulations, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the date of commencement of the Principal Regulations.

2. Sub-article (1) of article 16 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion before the words " Articles 10 to 15 " of the words " Save where an existing contributor attains pensionable age before the date specified herein ".

3. Article 17 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion after the words " employed contributor " of the words " (not being a person to whom article 5 of the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1953, ( S.I. No. 10 of 1953 ) applies)".
