CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (WOOLLEN AND WORSTED INDUSTRY) (EXCLUSION) REGULATIONS, 1953.

I, SEAN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 29 and 52 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 (No. 2 of 1936), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby make the following regulations:—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Conditions of Employment (Woollen and Worsted Industry) (Exclusion) Regulations, 1953.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these regulations.

3. The form of industrial work specified in the Schedule to these regulations is hereby declared to be excluded industrial work for the purpose of section 46 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 .

4. The following provisions shall have effect in respect of the work to which these regulations relate :

(a) no woman shall be employed to do any such work at any time between the hour of 11 p.m. on any day and the hour of 7 a.m. on the following day ;

(b) no woman shall be so employed on any day until after the expiration of eleven hours from the time at which she ceased to do industrial work on the previous day.

SCHEDULE

Weaving, winding, combing, gilling, drawing, spinning, mending, warping, knitting, linking, examining, welting, turning, pairing, folding, reeling and twisting of woollen and worsted tissues.
