NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (ARREARS) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1952.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the National Health Insurance Acts, 1911 to 1952, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, by this, his Order makes the following Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Insurance (Arrears) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1952, and shall be included amongst the Regulations which, by Regulation 1 of the National Health Insurance (Arrears) (Amendment) Regulations, 1952 ( S.I. No. 223 of 1952 ) shall be read as one with the National Health Insurance (Arrears) Regulations, 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 223 of 1946) (hereinafter referred to as " the Principal Regulations ").

2. (1) For the purposes of the Principal Regulations an employed contributor shall, as respects the contribution years beginning on the 2nd day of July, 1951, and the 7th day of July, 1952, be treated as though each contribution paid or excused in accordance with the provisions of the National Health Insurance Acts, 1911 to 1952, in respect of the said contribution years were two contributions so paid or excused provided that the total number of contributions so paid or excused shall not exceed fifty-two in respect of any one contribution year.

(2) The foregoing provisions of this Regulation shall not apply to a person to whom Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations applies as regards the period between the commencement of the contribution year and the end of the week immediately preceding his entry into insurance.
