CHILDREN ACT, 1941 (SECTION 21) REGULATIONS, 1952

The Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 21 of the Children Act, 1941 (No. 12 of 1941) as adapted by the Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 (S.R. & O., No. 58 of 1947), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Health, makes the following regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Children Act, 1941 (Section 21), Regulations, 1952.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1952.

3. The payments to be made by local authorities to the managers of certified schools for the maintenance of such children and youthful offenders as such local authorities are liable under Section 74 of the Children Act, 1908, as amended by Section 20 of the Children Act, 1941 (No. 12 of 1941) and by Section 4 (2) of the Children (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 6 of 1949) to maintain shall be as follows:—

(a) in the case of industrial schools, fifteen shillings per week for each child;

(b) in the case of reformatory schools, an amount not exceeding sixteen shillings and sixpence per week nor less than fifteen shillings and sixpence per week for each youthful offender.

4. The Children Act, 1941 (Section 21) Regulations, 1951 ( S.I. No. 61 of 1951 ), are hereby revoked.
