DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE MONEY ORDER AMENDMENT (No. 14) REGULATIONS, 1951.

I, the Minister for Finance of Ireland, in exercise of all powers now vested in me by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1937, the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 , the Ministers' and Secretaries' Act, 1924, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do, by this Warrant, made on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (testified by his signing the same) order, direct, and declare as follows :—

1. These Regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Money Order Regulations, 1903 (hereinafter called " The Principal Regulations ") and all Regulations amending the same.

2. From and after the date when these Regulations come into operation :—

(a) Regulation 3 (3) of the Principal Regulations shall be repealed and the following shall be substituted therefor :—

" No Inland Money Order shall be issued for an amount exceeding £50 and no Foreign Money Order shall be issued for an amount exceeding £50 or such less sum as the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs may from time to time direct."

(b) Regulation 2 of the Money Order Amendment (No. 9) Regulations, 1920, shall be repealed.

(c) So much of Regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations as relates to the poundage payable in respect of Inland Money Orders shall be repealed and the following shall be substituted therefor :—

" In respect of Inland Money Orders :

Poundage

for an amount not exceeding £3 :

6d.

for an amount exceeding £3 but not exceeding £10 :

9d.

for an amount exceeding £10 but not exceeding £20 :

1s.

0d.

for an amount exceeding £20 but not exceeding £30 :

1s.

6d.

for an amount exceeding £30 but not exceeding £50 :

2s.

0d."

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 9th day of July, 1951.

4. These Regulations may be cited as " The Money Order Amendment (No. 14) Regulations, 1951."
