CARRIAGE OF MILK ORDER, 1951.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Carriage of Milk Order, 1951.

2. In this Order—

the word " creamery " means premises registered in the Register of Creameries kept under the Dairy Produce Act, 1924 (No. 58 of 1924) ;

the expression " cream separating station " means premises registered in the Register of Cream Separating Stations kept under the Dairy Produce Act, 1924 (No. 58 of 1924) ;

the expression " exempted period " means the period commencing on the 1st day of October, 1951, and ending on the 30th day of September, 1952 ;

the expressions " merchandise road transport business " and " merchandise licence " have the same meanings as in the Road Transport Act, 1933 (No. 8 of 1933).

3. (1) Where, during the exempted period, milk is carried in the course of a merchandise road transport business for delivery at a creamery or a cream separating station, the business shall, as respects such carriage of milk, be deemed to be authorised by a merchandise licence.

(2) Where, during the exempted period, separated milk is carried in the course of a merchandise road transport business from a creamery or a cream separating station, the business shall, as respects such carriage of separated milk, be deemed to be authorised by a merchandise licence.

(3) Where, during the exempted period, containers for milk or separated milk are carried in the course of a merchandise roadtransport business to or from a creamery or a cream separating station, the business shall, as respects such carriage of containers, be deemed to be authorised by a merchandise licence.
