GARDA SIOCHANA ALLOWANCES ORDER, 1951.

I, GERALD BOLAND, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance testified by his official seal affixed hereto, hereby order as follows :—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Allowances Order, 1951.

(2) The Garda Síochána Allowances Orders, 1947 to 1950, and this Order may be cited together as the Garda Síochána Allowances Orders, 1947 to 1951.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. As on and from the 1st day of April, 1950, the Deputy Commissioner of the Force who formerly served as Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Police shall, while he continues to hold office as Deputy Commissioner, be entitled to rent allowance at the personal rate of £132 per annum in lieu of the rate of £120 per annum provided for by paragraph (6) of Article 4 of the Garda Síochána Allowances (Consolidation) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 167 of 1947 ).
