HARBOURS ACT (SECTION 11 DIRECTION) ORDER, 1950.

WHEREAS it is enacted by section 11 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), that where, as respects the election to be held in any particular election year of the elected member of a harbour authority, the Minister for Industry and Commerce is of opinion that the electors will be so few in number as to render inappropriate the holding of the election, the said Minister may by order direct that the election shall not be held :

AND WHEREAS the said Minister is of opinion that the electors will be so few in number as to render inappropriate the holding in the election year 1950 of the election of the elected members of each of the harbour authorities specified in the Schedule to this Order :

NOW I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Harbours Act (Section 11 Direction) Order, 1950.

2. It is hereby directed that the election to be held in the year 1950 of the elected members of a harbour authority specified in the Schedule to this Order shall not be held.
