Macswiney (Pension) Act, 1950

Grant of pension to widow of Terence MacSwiney.

1.—(1) There shall be paid by the Minister for Defence, out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas, to Mrs. Muriel MacSwiney, widow of Terence MacSwiney, an annual pension (in this section referred to as the pension) of five hundred pounds during her life.

(2) The pension shall be deemed to have commenced on the 21st day of September, 1950, and there shall be paid, as soon as may be after the passing of this Act, the amount accrued thereon in respect of the period which commenced on the said 21st day of September, 1950, and ended on the date of the passing of this Act.

(3) Any amount which accrues due after the date of the passing of this Act shall be paid monthly in arrear.
