GAS METERS (STAMPS) REGULATIONS, 1949.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1928 (No. 24 of 1928), hereby make the following regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Gas Meters (Stamps) Regulations, 1949.

2. In these Regulations the word " inspector " means an inspector of gas meters under the Sale of Gas Act, 1859.

3. Every meter shall be stamped in the following form and design, the upper figures therein to indicate the year of stamping and the lower figure to correspond to the number of the inspector's area :—

4. The material of which stamps are made under these Regulations shall be steel.
