PUBLIC HEALTH (LOUTH AND MEATH SHELLFISH LAYINGS) REGULATIONS, 1939 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1949.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Public Health (Regulations as to Food) Act, 1907, hereby makes the following regulations :—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Louth and Meath Shellfish Layings) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1949.

2. The Public Health (Louth and Meath Shellfish Layings) Regulations, 1939, are hereby amended by the insertion of the following paragraph at the end of sub-article (1) of Article 7 of the said Regulations :—

" or (c) treated in such other manner and by such other method as may be approved by the county medical officer of the county in which the laying is situate."

3. Article 7 of the Public Health (Louth and Meath Shellfish Layings) Regulations, 1939, shall not apply in relation to the sale (other than retail sale) or the exposure or offering for sale (other than retail sale) of shellfish taken from a laying to a person who can arrange for compliance with the provisions of the said Article 7 in respect of the shellfish under an arrangement approved by the county medical officer of the county in which such laying is situate.
