EMERGENCY POWERS (CONTROL OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1940 (AMENDMENT) (No. 31) ORDER, 1949.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Control of Export) Order, 1940 (Amendment) (No. 31) Order, 1949.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of May, 1949.

2. The Emergency Powers (Control of Export) Order, 1940 (S. R. & O. No. 149 of 1940), as amended by subsequent Orders shall cease to apply to the following :—

Almonds, ground and unground, anchovies and chinchards.

Bases for spring interior mattresses.

Blacking and polishes.

Cakes, cake mixtures and puddings for human consumption.

Candles.

Church furniture and church requisites. Coffee berries.

Cosmetics.

Cork and manufactures thereof.

Cornflour.

Cork carpet, felt base floor coverings, linoleum and floor-cloth.

Cotton wool and wadding.

Custard powder.

Cutlery.

Dried fruit of the following descriptions :

Apples, currants, raisins, dates, figs and fig cake, plums, greengages, prunes and apricots.

Flax (whether scutched or unscutched), flax tow or codilla.

Fruit of the following descriptions :

Apples, currants, gooseberries, grapes, plums (including damsons and greengages), raspberries, strawberries with the pulp and juice of any of the foregoing descriptions of fruit.

Fruit juice squash or crush.

Fruit trees and fruit bushes of the following descriptions :

Apple, currant, gooseberry, pear and plum.

Gelatine.

Glass and glassware, excluding scientific glassware.

Glass bulbs (electrical).

Gypsum.

Honey.

Jams, marmalades and fruit jellies.

Matches.

Oil baize and other oil cloth and leather cloth, being fabrics with textile base.

Oranges, lemons, grapefruit and the pulp and juice thereof.

Peels, candied, crystallised or otherwise preserved in sugar.

Personal clothing and wearing apparel and component parts and accessories thereof, including haberdashery (hard and soft) and braiding material.

Pickles, sauces and condiments.

Pipes for smoking tobacco and parts thereof.

Printed matter other than books and periodicals.

Rubber manufactures other than rubber boots.

Sacks, bags, wrappers or other containers made wholly or mainly of any one or more of the following materials viz: jute, hemp, cotton, sisal and flax, which contain goods at the time of exportation or which are being returned empty to the sender.

Sardines.

Seeds for sowing, agricultural and horticultural.

Souvenir goods and religious medals, excluding any such articles manufactured from gold.

Spices, whether ground or unground.

Starch and preparations thereof.

Sugar confectionery excluding cocoa preparations.

Textile Piece Goods.

Vacuum flasks.

Vegetables of the following descriptions :

Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, celery, broad beans, lettuce, onions (including potatoe onions and shallots), scallions, parsnips, turnips, spinach, leeks, peas, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes (excluding potatoes for food or seed).

Vegetable plants of the following descriptions :

Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, celery, leek, scallion, onion (including potato onion and shallot) and lettuce.

A watch which is being exported by a person for his own personal use.
