EMERGENCY POWERS (EXPORT OF WHISKEY) ORDER, 1941 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1949.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939) as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Export of Whiskey) Order, 1941 (Amendment) Order, 1949.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of May, 1949.

2. In this Order—

the word " whiskey " means home-produced whiskey or home-produced whiskey blended with imported spirits ;

the word " gin " means home-produced gin or home-produced gin blended with imported spirits.

3.—(1) Article 6 of the Emergency Powers (Export of Whiskey) Order, 1941 (S. R. & O. No. 26 of 1942), shall not apply to the exportation of—

(a) one bottle of whiskey and one bottle of gin, or

(b) two bottles of whiskey, or

(c) two bottles of gin,

If they are carried as private effects in passengers' baggage.

(2) In this Article a bottle means a bottle not exceeding one-sixth of a gallon in capacity.
