AGRICULTURAL WAGES (MINIMUM RATES) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1948 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1949.

The Agricultural Wages Board in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 17 of the Agricultural Wages Act, 1936 (No. 53 of 1936), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) (No. 2) Order, 1948 (Amendment) Order, 1949.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 4th day of April, 1949.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order the expression " the Principal Order " means the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) (No. 2) Order, 1948 ( S.I. No. 402 of 1948 ).

4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substition for Part I of that Schedule of the following :—

Classes of Agricultural Workers

Rate per week of 54 hours work, or per week of such lesser number of hours work as may be agreed upon between an agricultural employer and an agricultural worker, (exclusive of work on Sunday) under a contract of employment for a week or a number of weeks

Rate per hour for work done in any week in which 50 hours work or less than 50 hours work is done (exclusive of work on Sunday) other than under a contract of employment to which Column (2) refers

Overtime rate per hour payable for any time worked in any week in excess of 54 hours (exclusive of work on Sunday) under a contract of employment to which Column (2) refers, or in excess of 50 hours (exclusive of work on Sunday) under a contract of employment to which Column (3) refers
