EMERGENCY POWERS (DISTRIBUTION OF BUTTER) ORDER 1944 (EXCHANGE VALUE OF BUTTER COUPONS) (No. 2) ORDER, 1948.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, here order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be Cited as the Emergency Powers (Distribution of Butter) Order, 1944 (Exchange Value of Butter Coupons) (No. 2) Order, 1948.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of October, 1948.

2.—(1) In this Order, the expression " the Principal Order " means the Emergency Powers (Distribution of Butter) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 121 of 1944), as amended by any subsequent Order.

(2) This Order shall be construed as one with the Principal Order.

3. This Order is supplemental to the Principal Order.

4. For the purposes of the Principal Order, the exchange value of a butter coupon shall be—

(a) During the ration week commencing on the 23rd day of October, 1948—four ounces of creamery butter;

(b) During any ration week commencing on or after the 30th day of October, 1948—six ounces of creamery butter.

5. Paragraph (2) of Article 17 of the Principal Order shall, in its application in relation to the ration week commencing on the 23rd day of October, 1948, have effect as if the words " two and one-half times " were substituted for the word " twice."

6. The Emergency Powers (Distribution of Butter) Order, 1944 (Exchange Value of Butter Coupons) (No. 1) Order, 1948 (S.I., No. 274 of 1948), is hereby revoked.
