TYRES AND TUBES (MAXIMUM PRICES) ORDER, 1948.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) as amended by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (Continuance) Act, 1947) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Tyres and Tubes (Maximum Prices) Order, 1948.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 10th day of September, 1948.

2. References in this Order to selling shall be construed as including references to agreeing or offering to sell or to inviting an offer to buy.

3. No person shall sell any tyre or tube, used or unused, of any description mentioned in the Schedule hereto at any reference number at a price exceeding the price mentioned in the appropriate column of the said Schedule at such reference number.

4.—(1) Article 3 of this Order shall not apply to Fabrix Patents Ballina Semi-solid bicycle tyres or to Brazilian bicycle tyres and tubes branded with the trade name " Orion."

(2) No person shall sell any Fabrix Patents Ballina Semi-solid bicycle tyre at a price exceeding £1.

5. The Tyres and Tubes (Maximum Prices) (No. 3) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 336 of 1947 ) is hereby revoked.
