WIDOWS' AND ORPHANS' PENSIONS (EXCEPTED EMPLOYMENTS) ORDER, 1947.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of subsection (3) of Section 4 of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Act, 1935 (No. 29 of 1935), as amended by Section 5 of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Act, 1937 (No. 11 of 1937), and of the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O., No. 18 of 1947), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions (Excepted Employments) Order, 1947.

2. The employments specified in the Schedule hereto shall not be excepted employments to which the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Act, 1935 (No. 29 of 1935) applies.

3. The Widows' and Orphans' Pensions (Excepted Employments) Order, 1937 is hereby revoked.

4. This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 7th day of April, 1947.

SCHEDULE.

1. Employment under the Cork Harbour Commissioners in any pensionable office in a permanent capacity which is either

(a) employment by way of manual labour

or

(b) employment otherwise than by way of manual labour at a rate of remuneration not exceeding in value five hundred pounds a year.

2. Employment as a member of the Garda Siochana at a rate of remuneration not exceeding in value five hundred pounds a year.
