CHILDREN'S ALLOWANCES (NORMAL RESIDENCE) RULES, 1947.

1, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Children's Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 8 of 1946), and the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 18 of 1947 ), hereby prescribe the following rules:—

1. These rules may be cited as the Children's Allowances (Normal Residence) Rules, 1947.

2. The Children's Allowances (Normal Residence) Rules, 1946 ( S. R. & O. No. 152 of 1946 ), shall not apply to a, qualified child who is a refugee from the mainland of Europe.

3. A qualified child who is a refugee from the mainland of Europe shall be regarded as normally residing with the head of the household, in the State, of which he is for the time being a member and with no other person.
