AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (EGGS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1945.

I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Act, 1939 (No. 2 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do by this Order make the following regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1945.

(2) The Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to 1942, and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to 1945.

2. In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O., No. 169 of 1939 ).

3. Article 16 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the following respects :

(a) by the insertion before the words "are already so marked" in sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (4) of the following words :

" are eggs which are placed in cold store during the period beginning on any 1st day of September and ending on the 31st day of October next following or ",

(b) by the insertion after sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph (4) of the following new sub-paragraph :

" (e) in the case of eggs which are placed in cold store during the period beginning on any 1st day of September and ending on the 31st day of October next following, with the word ' harvest '."

(c) by the insertion after the word " eggs " in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (8) of the following words :

" other than eggs marked with the word ' harvest '."

4. Article 18 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the following respects:

(a) by the insertion after sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph (1) of the following new sub-paragraph :

" (g) in the case of eggs placed in cold store during the period beginning on any 1st day of September and ending on the 31st day of October next following, a mark consisting of the word ' harvest '."

(b) by the insertion in sub-paragraph (g) of paragraph (3) of the word " harvest ", after the words " in the case of cold stored " and the word " Harvest " after the words " the words ' cold stored '."

5. Article 25, as amended by the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1940 ( S. R. & O., No. 101 of 1940 ), of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the following respects :

(a) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) and the substitution therefor of the following sub-paragraph :

" (a) (i) the word ' chilled ' if the eggs are intended to be preserved by means of artificial refrigeration during the period beginning on any 1st day of November and ending on the 31st day of August next following, or

(ii) the word ' harvest ' if the eggs are intended to be preserved by means of artificial refrigeration during the period beginning on any 1st day of September and ending on the 31st day of October next following, or ",

(b) by the insertion in paragraph (2) of the words " or the word ' Harvest ' " before the words " or the word ".
