FOREIGN AND COLONIAL POST AMENDMENT (No. 4) WARRANT, 1943.

FOREIGN AND COLONIAL POST (EXCEPT PARCELS).

Dated : 21st of September, 1943.

The Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his signature hereto and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1937, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby by this Warrant orders as follows :—

1 Warrant to be read as one with the Principal Warrant

1. This Warrant shall be read as one with the Foreign and Colonial Post Warrant, 1921, hereinafter called " the Principal Warrant ", and any Warrant amending the same.

2 Rates of postage on airgraph letters and air mail packets

2. Regulation 8 of the Principal Warrant is hereby repealed and the following Regulation is substituted therefor :—

" 8. There shall be charged and paid :—

(a) on every airgraph letter a rate of postage not exceeding one shilling and sixpence for each sheet ;

(b) on every air mail packet (other than an airgraph letter) a rate of postage not exceeding seven shillings and sixpence for each half ounce or fractional part of a half ounce in weight."

3 Special conditions as to airgraph letters

3. A letter shall be transmissible as an airgraph letter only if it is addressed to such countries or destinations as may from time to time be prescribed.

An airgraph letter shall not be transmissible as a registered postal packet.

4 Interpretation

4. In this Warrant, the expression " airgraph letter " means a letter, written on a prescribed form, of which a photographic reproduction is intended to be made for transmission to the country or place of destination or to some intermediate place, the transmission being wholly or partly by an air mail service.

5 Definition

5. In Regulation 10, (12), of the Principal Warrant the expression " consisting of or containing two or more postal packets " includes a postal packet containing postal packets or postal forms with addresses different from the address borne by the outer packet.

6 Short Title

6. This Warrant may be cited as " the Foreign and Colonial Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1943 ".

7 Commencement

7. This Warrant shall come into operation forthwith.
