LARGE PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLES (CONDUCT) REGULATIONS, 1942.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1933 .

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health after consultation with the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 123 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 , and in exercise of every other power enabling him in this behalf, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Large Public Service Vehicles (Conduct) Regulations, 1942.

2. These Regulations, and the Large Public Service Vehicles (Conduct) Regulations, 1937, shall be construed as one and may be cited collectively as the Large Public Service Vehicles (Conduct) Regulations, 1937 to 1942.

3. In these Regulations, the expressions " passenger road service ", and " passenger licence " have the same meanings respectively as in the Road Transport Act, 1932 .

4. (1) When a passenger road service is carried on by means of an omnibus, the conductor may request every passenger in such omnibus on its arrival at a stopping place which is one of the terminal points specified in the passenger licence relating to such passenger service, to leave such omnibus.

(2) Where any passenger in an omnibus is requested under this Article by the conductor to leave the omnibus such passenger shall leave the omnibus forthwith, and if such passenger fails so to leave the omnibus he may be removed from the omnibus by the conductor, who may for that purpose use such force as may be necessary.

(3) Where a passenger in an omnibus has been requested under this Article to leave the omnibus the conductor shall not accept a fare from such passenger for any further journey until after such passenger has left the omnibus in compliance with such request.
