LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1941 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) No. 1 ORDER, 1941.

WHEREAS by section 3 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (in this Order referred to as " the Act "), it is enacted that the Act shall come into operation on such day or days as may be fixed therefor by order or orders of the Minister either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision, and that different days may be so fixed for different purposes and different provisions of the Act :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers so conferred on him hereby orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1941 (Date of Commencement) No. 1 Order, 1941.

2. The portions of the Act mentioned in the first schedule to this Order shall for all purposes come into operation on the first day of November, 1941.

3. Section 5 of the Act shall come into operation on the first day of November, 1941, for the purpose only of effecting the repeal of the enactments mentioned in the second schedule to this order to the extent specified in the third column of that schedule.
