Payment of certain debts.

14.—Where any compensation under this Act (other than compensation to which a reinstatement condition is attached by the Court or a condition in the nature of a reinstatement condition is attached by the Minister) or any sum under the next following section of this Act is payable by the Minister and any money is owing by the person to whom such compensation or sum is payable to a Minister of State or to the Revenue Commissioners or to the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland or to the Irish Land Commission, it shall be lawful for the Minister to pay and discharge out of the said compensation or sum the money so owing by the said person and to pay to the said person only the balance (if any) of the said compensation or sum remaining after such payment and discharge.
