BY-LAW No. C.S.94. No. 8 OR LIMERICK DISTRICT

CLOSE SEASON FOR ANGLING WITH SINGLE ROD AND LINE.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers now exercisable by me under the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1939, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby make the following By-Law, that is to say :—

(1) This By-Law may be cited as Limerick District Close Season By-Law No. C.S.94, 1940.

(2) This By-Law shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1940.

(3) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this By-Law.

(4) All By-Laws heretofore in force governing the Annual Close Season for angling with single rod and line in the No. 8 or Limerick District are hereby revoked.

(5) There shall be kept and observed as the Annual Close Seasons for angling with single rod and line in each portion of the No. 8 or Limerick District specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto the period set forth in the second column of the said Schedule opposite the mention of such portion.

SCHEDULE.

Portion of No. 8 or Limerick District

Annual Close Season (all days inclusive)

The main River Shannon, including the Lakes which form part of this main watercourse, together with the Rivers Maigue, Deel and Fergus and their respective Lakes and Tributaries.

1st October to 31st January.

All Tributary Rivers and Lakes (excepting Lakes forming part of the main watercourse) of the river Shannon, other than the Maigue, Deel and Fergus with their respective Lakes and Tributaries.

1st October to the last day of February.

The Rivers Feale, Geale and Cashen with their Tributaries.

16th September to the last day of February.

All Rivers (with their Tributaries) entering the sea between Kerry Head and Dunmore Head (both in the County of Kerry) save and except the River Feohanagh.

1st October to 31st March.

River Feohanagh

1st October to 30th April.

All Rivers (with their Tributaries) situated in any other part of the said Limerick Fishery District.

1st October to the last day of February.
