CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 13) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1940.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that the Government may at any time by order amend or revoke any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act, including an order made under the said Section 11 amending a previous order :

AND WHEREAS the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 59 of 1935), was made on the 12th day of March, 1935, under the said Act :

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 53 of 1937), and the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) Order, 1940 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 41 of 1940), the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935, was amended in certain respects :

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1940.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. Part I of the Schedule to the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935, is hereby amended by the deletion of the words " exceed three shillings and sixpence " (being the words inserted therein by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) Order, 1940), and the substitution in lieu thereof of the words " exceed three shillings", and the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935, shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

4. This Order shall come into operation as on and from the 1st day of November, 1940.
