STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1940. No. 74.

PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (SUSPENSION OF SECTION 98) ORDER, 1940.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of section 50 of the Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 35 of 1939), that, on or after the 1st day of January, 1940, the Minister for Agriculture may, whenever and so often as he thinks fit, by order declare that subsection (2) of section 98 (which relates to production periods and quotas) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), shall be suspended:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 50 of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1939 (No. 35 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Suspension of Section 98) Order, 1940.

2. Subsection (2) of section 98 (which relates to production periods and quotas) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), shall be suspended.
