STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1940. No. 30.

BREAD (STANDARD PRICE OF FLOUR) (No. 13) ORDER, 1940.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of Section 2 of the Bread (Regulation of Prices) Act, 1936 (No. 29 of 1936), that, subject to the provisions of the said section, the Minister for Industry and Commerce may, whenever and so often as he thinks fit, by order under the said subsection (1) fix, for the purposes of the said Act, the price of flour for any specified area, and it is enacted by sub-section (2) of the said section (as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution) that every order under the said section shall specify the area to which it is to apply, and such area may be the whole of Ireland or any specified part thereof, and it is enacted by subsection (3) of the said section that the said Minister may by order under the said subsection (3) revoke any order made under the said subsection (1), and it is enacted by subsection (4) of the said section that the said Minister shall before making an order under the said section consult with the Milling Advisory Committee established under Section 10 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933 (No. 7 of 1933) :

AND WHEREAS by an order made on the 8th day of January, 1940, under Section 6 of the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), the Minister for Industry and Commerce delegated to the Minister for Supplies all powers and duties conferred on or imposed on the Minister for Industry and Commerce by the said Bread (Regulation of Prices) Act, 1936 :

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Supplies in exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Industry and Commerce by subsections (1) and (3) of Section 2 of the Bread (Regulation of Prices) Act, 1936 (No. 29 of 1936), and delegated to me under Section 6 of the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby, having previously consulted with the Milling Advisory Committee, order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Bread (Standard Price of Flour) (No. 13) Order, 1940.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 5th day of February, 1940.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. This Order applies to the whole of the area to which the laws enacted by the Oireachtas for the time being apply.

4. The standard price of flour for the purposes of the Bread (Regulation of Prices) Act, 1936 (No. 29 of 1936), for the area to which this Order applies shall, so long as this Order remains in force, be forty-seven shillings per sack of 280 lbs.

5. The Bread (Standard Price of Flour) (No. 12) Order, 1939 (Statutory Rules and Orders No. 263 of 1939), is hereby revoked.
