CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 34) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1939.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that the Government may at any time by order, amend or revoke any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act :

AND WHEREAS the Control of Imports (Quota No. 34) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 146 of 1937), was made on the 25th day of June, 1937, under the said Act :

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power, them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 34) (Amendment) Order, 1939.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 34) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 146 of 1937), is hereby amended in the following respects and shall be construed and have effect accordingly, that is to say :—

(a) by the deletion in paragraph 3 of the words " less than four volts nor ", and

(b) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph 4.

4. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1939.
