STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1939. No. 154.

APPRENTICESHIP DISTRICT (BOOT AND SHOE REPAIRING TRADE) ORDER, 1939.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that whenever the Minister for Industry and Commerce makes a special order declaring a trade to be a designated trade in any area (whether such area does or does not extend to the whole of Ireland) the said Minister shall by another order forthwith either constitute such area to be an apprenticeship district for the purposes of such designated trade or divide such area into two or more apprenticeship districts for the purposes of such designated trade :

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of the said Section 3 that before making an order under that section constituting an area to be an apprenticeship district or dividing an area into two or more apprenticeship districts for the purposes of a designated trade which is a trade-board trade, the said Minister shall consult the trade-board for such trade :

AND WHEREAS by the Apprenticeship Act (Boot and Shoe Repairing Trade) Special Order, 1939, the said Minister declared the trade specified in the Schedule to the said Order to be a designated trade for the purposes of the said Act throughout Ireland :

AND WHEREAS the trade so declared to be a designated trade is a trade-board trade and the said Minister has before making this present Order consulted the trade-board for the said trade :

NOW, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 3 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship District (Boot and Shoe Repairing Trade) Order, 1939.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The whole of Ireland, being the area throughout which the trade specified in the Schedule to the Apprenticeship Act (Boot and Shoe Repairing Trade) Special Order, 1939, is declared by that Order to be a designated trade for the purposes of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), is hereby constituted to be an apprenticeship district for the purposes of the said designated trade.
