HOLIDAYS (EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1939 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1939.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 25 of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (No. 1 of 1939), that the said Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for the purpose by order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the power conferred on him by sub-section (2) of Section 25 of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (No. 1 of 1939), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (Commencement) Order, 1939.

2. The 22nd day of May, 1939, is hereby fixed as the day on which the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (No. 1 of 1939), shall come into operation.
