STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1939. No. 92.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 12. ELEVENTH PERIOD) ORDER, 1939.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (2) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that so long as any particular quota order is in force the Government shall, during and not less than one month before the end of every quota period under such quota order, by order—

(a) appoint a period (beginning at the expiration of the said quota period) to be the next quota period under such quota order and

(b) appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purpose of the said Act in respect of the said next quota period:

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12, Tenth Period) Order, 1938 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 295 of 1938), the period beginning on the 1st day of December, 1938, and ending on the 31st day of May, 1939, was appointed to be the tenth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 16 of 1935):

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) (Amendment) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 211 of 1937), the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) Order, 1935, was amended in certain respects:

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (2) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12, Eleventh Period) Order, 1939.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The period beginning on the 1st day of June, 1939, and ending on the 30th day of November, 1939, is hereby appointed to be the eleventh quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) Order, 1935 (which (as amended) relates to certain hose).

4. Two hundred and forty thousand pairs of the articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) Order, 1935, applies shall be the quota in respect of the said eleventh quota period.
