STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 139.

GRASS SEED (REGULATION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1938.

The Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Agricultural Products (Regulation of Export) Acts, 1933 and 1935, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Grass Seed (Regulation of Export) Order, 1938.

2. The expression "the Minister" means the Minister for Agriculture;

the expression "the United Kingdom" means the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

4. It shall not be lawful for any person to export to the United Kingdom grass seed unless under and in accordance with a licence granted by the Minister.

5. The Minister may, if he so thinks fit, grant to any person a licence to export to the United Kingdom grass seed of a specified kind and may attach to such licence such conditions as he thinks proper and specifies therein.

6. Any person who exports or attempts to export any grass seed in contravention of this Order or who brings or is in the act of bringing any grass seed to any quay, road or other place whatsoever for the purpose of exportation or attempted exportation in contravention of this Order or who aids or abets in the exportation or attempted exportation of any grass seed in contravention of this Order shall be guilty of an offence under this Order and shall be liable on summary conviction thereof to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds.
