STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 102.

CURRENCY ACT, 1927, ADAPTATION ORDER, 1938.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Constitution (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 40 of 1937), that for the purpose of ensuring that the laws in force in Saorstát Eireann immediately prior to the date of the coming into operation of the Constitution shall continue to be of full force and effect in accordance with and to the extent provided by Article 50 of the Constitution, the Government may by order make all such general or specific adaptations and modifications of any statute or statutory instrument continued in force by the said Article 50 as shall, in the opinion of the Government be necessary for the purposes aforesaid :

AND WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Government, the adaptation intended to be made by this Order of the Currency Act, 1927 (No. 32 of 1927), being an Act continued in force by Article 50 of the Constitution, is necessary for the purpose of ensuring that that Act shall continue to be of full force and effect in accordance with and to the extent provided by the said Article 50 :

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Constitution (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 40 of 1937), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Currency Act, 1927 , Adaptation Order, 1938.

2. The Currency Act, 1927 (No. 32 of 1927), is hereby adapted by the substitution of the expression " Irish pound " for the expression " Saorstát pound " in every place in which the latter expression occurs in section 4, in section 5 or in section 47 of the said Act.
