STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 30

MERCHANT SHIPPING (SPANISH CIVIL WAR) ACT, 1937 (CONTINUATION) ORDER, 1938.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of section 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Spanish Civil War) Act, 1937 (No. 9 of 1937), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that so long as that Act is in force, the Government may, whenever and so often as they think proper, by order continue that Act in force for such time (not exceeding six months from the date on which it would otherwise expire) as they shall think proper and shall specify in such order:

AND WHEREAS by virtue of the Merchant Shipping (Spanish Civil War) Act, 1937 (Continuation) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 245 of 1937), made under the said sub-section (2), the said Act was continued in force until the expiration of the 19th day of March, 1938:

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (2) of section 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Spanish Civil War) Act, 1937 (No. 9 of 1937), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Spanish Civil War) Act, 1937 (Continuation) Order, 1938.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to this Order.

3. The Merchant Shipping (Spanish Civil War) Act, 1937 (No. 9 of 1937), shall continue in force until the expiration of the 19th day of September, 1938.
