THE THERAPEUTIC SUBSTANCES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1938.

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Therapeutic Substances Act, 1932 , does by this his Order, after consultation with the Therapeutic Substances Advisory Committee, order as follows, that is to say :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Therapeutic Substances (Amendment) Regulations, 1938, and shall be read and construed as one with the Therapeutic Substances Regulations, 1934 to 1937, and may be cited together therewith as the Therapeutic Substances Regulations, 1934 to 1938.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1938.

2. Article 17 of the Therapeutic Substances (Saorstát Eireann) Regulations, 1934, shall have effect as if there were added at the end thereof the following proviso :—

Provided always that if at such examination, it is not possible from any cause, to determine, without further tests, whether a growth of micro-organisms has occurred in any tube, the contents of such tube shall be subjected to such further tests by way of staining, sub-culture or animal inoculation, as may be necessary, for the purpose of ascertaining whether any such growth has occurred and permanent records shall be kept of such further tests and their examination as part of the records of the examination of the tube and the examination of such further tests shall be deemed to be part of the examination of the tube.
