WIDOWS' AND ORPHANS' PENSIONS (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1937.

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 2 of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Act, 1937 , hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions (Appointed Day) Order, 1937.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , shall apply to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. In this Order unless the context otherwise requires the following expressions shall have the meanings hereinafter respectively assigned to them :—

" the Act " means the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Act, 1937 ;

" the Minister " means the Minister for Local Government and Public Health ;

" the appointed day " means the day appointed by the Minister under Section 2 of the Act to be the appointed day for the purposes of the Act.

4. The appointed day shall be the 2nd July, 1937.
