CHEESE (LEVY) ORDER, 1937.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 18 of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) Act, 1935 (No. 21 of 1935), that the Minister for Agriculture may from time to time by order make regulations prescribing the rates of levy under Part III of the said Act on milk products and may at any time by Order revoke or amend any such order and may by any such Order prescribe different rates of levy on different substances and on different classes (defined in such manner as the said Minister shall think proper) of any particular substance and the date on which any particular rate of levy shall come into force:

AND WHEREAS by virtue of Section 3 of the said Act raw cheese and processed cheese are milk products for the purposes of the said Act:

NOW, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) Act, 1935 (No. 21 of 1935), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do by this Order make the following regulations:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Cheese (Levy) Order, 1937.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The Cheese (Levy) (No. 2) Order, 1936 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 140 of 1936), is revoked as on and from the 1st day of May, 1937.

4. The rate of levy on raw cheese other than raw cheese which is manufactured from cream on which a levy at the appropriate rate has been paid, shall be five shillings the hundredweight, and such rate shall come into force as on and from the 1st day of May, 1937.

5. The rate of levy on processed cheese shall be seven shillings the hundredweight and such rate shall come into force as on and from the 1st day of May, 1937.
