STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1936. No. 176.

LIVE STOCK (BOARS) (UNSUITABLE TYPES) REGULATIONS, 1936.

AN ROINN TALMHAIOCHTA.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (2) of Section 21 of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925 (No. 3 of 1925), that the Minister for Agriculture may at any time after the appointed day by order apply the provisions of that Act with such modifications as may be specified in such order to boars :

AND WHEREAS the said Minister by order appointed the 30th day of September, 1925, to be the appointed day for the purposes of the said Act :

AND WHEREAS by the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925 (Application to Boars) Order, 1930 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 70 of 1930), the said Act was applied to boars as on and from the 31st day of October, 1930 :

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of Section 5 of the said Act, as so applied to boars, that the said Minister may by regulations made under the said Act declare that any particular breed or breeds or any particular type or types of boar is or are unsuitable for any specified area or areas, but that the said Minister shall not make, revoke or vary any such regulation until he has consulted the consultative council established under the said Act in regard thereto, and that the said Minister, in the making, revoking or varying any such regulation shall take into consideration any advice in regard thereto given to him by the said council after making such (if any) inquiries and investigations as it thinks proper :

AND WHEREAS before making these regulations the said Minister has consulted the consultative council established under the said Act in regard thereto, and in the making of these regulations the said Minister has taken into consideration the advice in regard thereto given to him by the said council :

NOW, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925 (No. 3 of 1925), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby make the following regulations, that is to say :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Live Stock (Boars) (Unsuitable Types) Regulations, 1936.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1937.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of these Regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The Live Stock (Boars) (Unsuitable Types) Regulations, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 628 of 1935), are hereby revoked.

4. It is hereby declared that boars of all types, other than the Irish Large White type, are unsuitable for the area comprised in Saorstát Eireann.
