STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1936. No. 134.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 20, THIRD PERIOD, ADDITIONAL QUOTA) ORDER, 1936.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that whenever the Executive Council has, by order made under that section, appointed a quota in respect of any quota period, the Executive Council may, if they so think fit, by order made before the expiration of such quota period increase such quota by such amount (in that Act referred to as an additional quota) as they think proper :

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 20, Third Period) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 542 of 1935), made under the said Section 6, the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of November, 1935, and ending on the 23rd day of June, 1936, to be the third quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 20) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 159 of 1935), and appointed a total amounting to fifty-six thousand hundredweights of tomatoes to which the last-mentioned order applies to be the quota in respect of the said third quota period :

NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 20, Third Period, Additional Quota) Order, 1936.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The quota appointed by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 20, Third Period) Order, 1935, in respect of the third quota period appointed by that Order is hereby increased by twelve thousand hundredweights of tomatoes to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 20) Order, 1935, applies, to the intent that the said twelve thousand hundredweights of tomatoes shall be an additional quota in respect of the said third quota period and the total quota in respect of the said third quota period shall be sixty-eight thousand hundredweights of tomatoes to which the last-mentioned Order applies.
