Modifications of the Principal Act in relation to the agricultural grant for the financial year 1937-38. |
6.—For the purposes of the application (in pursuance of and to the extent provided by this Act) of the Principal Act in relation to the agricultural grant in respect of the financial year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1937, but no further or otherwise, the following modifications shall be made in the Principal Act, that is to say:— | |
(a) the expression “the current financial year” shall be construed throughout the Principal Act as meaning the said financial year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1937, and | ||
(b) in the construction of the expression “the agricultural grant”, the grant which the Minister for Finance is required by this present Act to make in the financial year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1937, shall be substituted for the grant mentioned in paragraph (d) of the definition of that expression contained in sub-section (1) of section 1 of the Principal Act, and | ||
(c) in section 7— | ||
(i) the expression “the qualifying period” shall be construed as meaning the calendar year 1936, and | ||
(ii) in the definition of the expression “adult workman” in sub-section (1), the 1st day of January, 1936, shall be substituted for the 1st day of January, 1934, and | ||
(iii) in sub-section (5), the 31st day of March, 1937, shall be substituted for the 25th day of April, 1935, and | ||
(d) in section 9, the 1st day of April, 1937, shall be substituted for the 1st day of April, 1935, and | ||
(e) in paragraph (a) of sub-section (3) of section 14— | ||
(i) the 31st day of October, 1937, shall be substituted for the 31st day of October, 1935, and | ||
(ii) the 1st day of February, 1938, shall be substituted for the 1st day of February, 1936. |
