11/11/1935: Order made by the Revenue Commissioners

Dated 11th November, 1935.

The Revenue Commissioners, in pursuance of the powers conferred on them by Section 139 of the Customs Consolidation Act, 1876, hereby order as follows:—

1. The exporter or shipper of any dead rabbits intended for exportation on and after 11th November, 1935, shall make due entry and obtain clearance of such dead rabbits before shipment or exportation.

2. The entry required under paragraph 1 of this Order shall be made by delivering to the Collector or other proper Officer of the Customs and Excise a Specification in the approved form, duly completed, in duplicate.

3. The entry shall specify, in addition to the other particulars required to be shown thereon,

(a) the name and address of the consignor of the dead rabbits;

(b) the name and address of the consignee of the dead rabbits;

(c) the name and address of the owner of the dead rabbits;

(d) the number of rabbits in each case;

and shall in all cases contain a declaration on the part of the person making the entry that the particulars in the entry are true and are correctly stated.

4. The clearance required under paragraph 1 of this Order shall be granted by the signature of the proper Officer of Customs and Excise on the document on which entry has been made in pursuance of this Order.

5. This Order shall come into operation on the 11th day of November, 1935.

6. The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before the First day of January, 1924.

7. This Order may be cited as the Exportation of Dead Rabbits (Entry) Order, 1935.

EXPORTATION OF DEAD RABBITS.

1. Collectors and other Officers concerned are informed that the Commissioners have made an Order (see Appendix) dated 11th November, 1935, under section 139 of the Customs Consolidation Act, 1876, requiring due entry and clearance before shipment or exportation of dead rabbits shipped or exported on and after the 11th November, 1935.

2. The instructions contained in paragraph 2 to 7 of General Order No. 219/1932 are, mutatis mutandis, to be applied.

3. A Public Notice regarding the exportation of dead rabbits is being printed and copies will be circulated for distribution in due course. Further copies of the Notice, if required, may be obtained on requisition in the usual manner.
