STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 144.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 9, SECOND PERIOD) ORDER, 1935.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that so long as any particular quota order is in force the Executive Council shall, during and not less than one month before the end of every quota period under such quota order by order—

(a) appoint a period (beginning at the expiration of the said quota period) to be the next quota period under such quota order, and

(b) appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purposes of the said Act in respect of the said next quota period :

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 9, First Period) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 328 of 1934), the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 26th day of November, 1934, and ending on the 30th day of June, 1935, to be the first quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 9) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 288 of 1934) :

NOW, the Executive Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (2) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 9, Second Period) Order, 1935.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The period beginning on the 1st day of July, 1935, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1935, is hereby appointed to be the second quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 9) Order, 1934 (which relates to any completely or substantially assembled motor car chassis without a body or body shell attached thereto).

4. Forty articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 9) Order, 1934, applies shall be the quota in respect of the said second quota period.
