STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 92.

BEEF SUPPLY (APPOINTED AREAS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1935.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 45 of the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Act, 1934 (No. 42 of 1934), that the Minister for Agriculture may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, by order declare a particular area to be an appointed area for the purposes of that Act and (amongst other things) fix the price to be paid by the said Minister to each registered proprietor in such area for the beef supplied by him in pursuance of such order :

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (4) of the said section 45 that the Minister for Agriculture may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, at any time by order revoke or amend any order previously made by him under that section :

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section 45, made the following Orders with the consent of the Minister for Finance, that is to say :—

(a) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 1) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 367 of 1934), and

(b) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 2) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 368 of 1934), and

(c) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 3) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 369 of 1934), and

(d) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 4) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 370 of 1934) :

NOW, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the power conferred on me by sub-section (4) of section 45 of the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Act, 1934 (No. 42 of 1934), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Beef Supply (Appointed Areas) (Amendment) Order, 1935.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. In this Order the expression " the Principal Orders " means the following Orders, that is to say—

(a) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 1) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 367 of 1934), and

(b) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 2) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 368 of 1934), and

(c) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 3) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 369 of 1934), and

(d) the Beef Supply (Appointed Area No. 4) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 370 of 1934).

4. Paragraph 8 of each of the Principal Orders shall cease to have effect immediately upon the coming into operation of this Order.

5. As on and from the day on which this Order comes into operation, the price to be paid by the Minister for Agicurlture in pursuance of the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Act, 1934 (No. 42 of 1934), to registered proprietors of registered victualling premises for beef supplied by them to recipients in pursuance of any of the Principal Orders shall be at the rate of four pence the pound.

6. This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of April, 1935.
