WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT, 1934 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1934.

WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT, 1934 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1934, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 20th DAY OF JUNE, 1934, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2 of THE WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT, 1934 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by section 2 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (No. 9 of 1934), that the said Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for that purpose by order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 2 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (No. 9 of 1934), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling does hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Workmen's Commensation Act, 1934 (Commencement) Order, 1934.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The first day of August, 1934, is hereby fixed as the day on which the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 , shall come into operation.
