THE ROAD TRANSPORT ACT 1933 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1934.

THE ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1933 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1934, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 29th DAY OF MAY, 1934, PURSUANT TO SECTION 5 of THE ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1933 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 , that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may, after consultation with the Minister for Justice by order appoint a day not less than three months after the passing of the said Act to be the appointed day for the purposes of the said Act :

AND WHEREAS Section 7 of the Road Transport Act, 1934 , declares that any order made before the passing of that Act under subsection (1) of Section 5 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 , is and shall be deemed always to have been void and of no effect, and enacts that accordingly an order may be made under the said sub-section (1) at any time after the passing of the Road Transport Act, 1934 :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in the exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 , and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, and after consultation with the Minister for Justice by this Order appoints the 1st day of July, 1934, to be the appointed day for the purposes of the said Act.

This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Road Transport Act, 1933 (Appointed Day) Order, 1934.
