Disposal of moneys in the Purchase Annuities Fund.

1.—(1) So much of sub-section (2) of section 12 of the Land Act, 1923 (No. 42 of 1923), as begins with the words “and there shall from time” and ends with the words “in respect of the aforesaid advances” is hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof it is hereby enacted that the moneys which are at the passing of this Act or shall from time to time thereafter be standing to the credit of the Purchase Annuities Fund shall be paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer at such times and in such manner as the Minister for Finance shall direct.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing sub-section of this section, no moneys which are at the passing of this Act or at any time thereafter standing to the credit of the Purchase Annuities Fund and would, if this Act had not been passed, be transferable (whether by payment or by allowance of credit) from that Fund to the Guarantee Fund shall be paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer under this section.
