MOUTHS OF THE RIVERS URRIN AND BORO

I, PATRICK RUTTLEDGE, Minister for Lands and Fisheries, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , and of every other power enabling me in this behalf

(1) Do hereby define the mouth of the River Urrin to be a straight line (marked M on the map or plan hereto annexed) drawn from a point of the Townland of Enniscorthy (marked O) to a point in the Townland of St. John's (marked P), both in the County of Wexford.

(2) And do hereby define the mouth of the River Boro to be a straight line (marked M on the map or plan hereto annexed) drawn from a point of the Townland of St. John's (marked O) to a point in the Townland of Borrmount (marked P), both in the County of Wexford.

(3) And do hereby further define the points of the mouths of the said Rivers from which distances are to be measured under the Fisheries (Ireland) Acts to be High-Water Mark on the respective shores at the mouth of each of the said Rivers, which points are marked O and P respectively upon the said map or plan, hereto annexed, on which said map or plan is also coloured Blue the distance of Half a Mile within which Nets are prohibited by the Fisheries (Ireland) Act, 1850 (13 and 14 Vic. c. 88, Sec. 44) (vide Note).

NOTE.—Section 27 of 5 and 6 Vic. c. 106 enacts " That it shall not be lawful for any person, save and except the proprietor of a several fishery within the limits thereof, at any time to shoot, draw, or use any net for taking Salmon at the mouth of any river opening into the sea (the inland of fresh-water portion of which river is frequented by Salmon) where the breadth of such mouth between the banks thereof shall not exceed a quarter of a mile statute measure ; and that it shall not be lawful for any person, save such proprietor as aforesaid, within such limits as aforesaid, to shoot, draw, or use any net for taking Salmon within half a mile seaward, or along the coast from the mouth of any such river." Section 44 of 13 and 14 Vic. c. 88 enacts " That it shall not be lawful for any person, save and expect the owner of a several fishery within the limits thereof, at any time shoot, draw, or use any net for taking Salmon at the mouth of any river, where the breadth of such mouth between the banks thereof shall not exceed a quarter of a mile statute measure ; and that it shall not be lawful for any person, save such owner as aforesaid, within such limits as aforesaid, to shoot, draw, or use any net for taking Salmon within half a mile seaward, or half a mile inwards, or along the coast from the mouth of any river."
