STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1932. No. 32.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ACT, 1926. SCHOOL ATTENDANCE COMMITTEES (QUALIFICATIONS OF OFFICERS) ORDER, 1932.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (5) of Section 11 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), that no person shall be appointed by a school attendance committee to be an officer of such committee unless he possesses such qualifications as shall be prescribed by the Minister for Education. after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, as the necessary qualifications for such officer of such committee :

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 23 of the said Act that the Minister for Education may by order prescribe any matter or thing which is in that Act referred to as prescribed or to be prescribed :

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Education in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said Act made the School Attendance Committees (Qualifications of Officers) Order, 1931 (Statutory Rules and Orders, 1931, No. 28) :

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the said Order in the manner hereinafter appearing:

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Education, before making this Order, consulted the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in regard thereto :

NOW the Minister for Education in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the School Attendance Committees (Qualifications of Officers) Order, 1932.

2. the Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as is applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. Paragraph 3 of the School Attendance Committees (Qualifications of Officers) Order, 1931, is hereby amended in the following respects and shall be construed and have effect accordingly, that is to say :—

(a) in sub-paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), and (f), of the said paragraph, there shall be inserted after the words " to the satisfaction of such committee " now contained in the said sub-paragraphs, the words "and of the Minister for Education" ;

(b) in clause (ii) of sub-paragraph (a) of the said paragraph, the word "forty" shall be substituted for the word "thirty-fiv " now contained therein.
